Baby Marie's Development

GOT NUTHIN TO DO!!!

Yup, that's right. Got nothing to do here.. Baby just turned 3 months old yesterday, December 7th. Oh we just bought a petite pandan cake from Fountainhead, Robinson's Tabunok branch.

She can already laugh a bit, widely smile, coos, responds when you talk to her, listens to different sounds and even follows every moving thing through her head and sometimes through her cute little eyes only, and.. what else? We can discover more in the coming days.. We love you, baby Marie!

Baby Marie crying.

My poor little baby girl's face after receiving her Pneumococcal and Rotavirus vaccines.. Such a pity.. But that's okay baby, it's for your own good..

Mama loves you so much.

Back to Cebu!

Our 2-week vacation in Ormoc City has just ended last Sunday, November 28th. Oh well, back to normal again. Nothing to do here at home. I prefer living with JD and JC because in that way I can slim down easily, you know, living without any helpers, cooking for my own family, cleaning the whole house, hand-washing our clothes, feeding the cats and dog, etc.. Oh how I miss staying there in spite of all the work. And God, I miss them so much!

Back to blogging. See you around!

Sanitary Napkin Costume

Now, where did you get that idea? Ha ha ha ha! It's gross.. yet it's fun to look at!

11.09.2010

Apparently, antibiotics aren't recommended.

Let me just say I do not recommend antiobiotics too. Marie just turned 2 months old last Sunday and I think it's too early for her to have a taste of antibiotics.

A few hours ago, we went to SGH for her unscheduled check up. It's because she has a slight cough and colds. Her pediatrician told me not to give her antibiotics yet for she is still young. Doctor Chua gave a new med though (Allerkid drops), coz according to him, Marie has an allergy. She was exposed last Sunday night to the outside world with just a handkerchief coz we went to church to hear mass. Now that made her condition worse.

After going to see her doctor, I kinda took a few shots of her in her skyblue colored dress. I forgot who gave this, it was a gift from the baptism party. That's our healthy smiling baby girl and the stuffed toy I gifted Fe Lyn on her graduation day!

19th Anniversary of the Flash Flood in Ormoc City

This is the new Ormoc City now. Is described as the 1st class city in the province of Leyte, Philippines. The name's derived from the word Ogmok (which I honestly do not know what it means, you can look it up on google yourself). It now has suburban towns and is slowly rising from that horrific tragedy exactly 19 years from this day.

Here, I found an actual photo of that incident:

In November 05, 1991, I was 1 year and 7 months old (I do not know everything) when this tropical storm "Uring" hit Ormoc City. It caused too much flash floods and landslides that killed over 6,000 (or more) people. Good thing no one from our family got caught in the flood.

Again, as I was saying, I can't put all the details here because I was still a baby when this happened.

Today, join us Ormocanons pray for the souls of those who perished in the flood.

Thank you for your time!

Kids Caroling @ Home

Caroling. Isn't that a bit early today??

Well, here's a group of little children going from house to house singing Christmas carols NOT to spread the holiday spirit.. but... to earn money! Kids these days.. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Their favorite Christmas songs are Ang Pasko ay Sumapit, Pasko Na Naman, Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas. That's all I can remember!

Not only children go caroling, some groups of old people organize caroling sessions to raise funds. Some even have costumes and bring musical instruments (even from the simplest used bucket right there on the picture they used as their bass)!

In our country, they usually end their song right after we give coins or food (sandwiches / bread) with, "Thank you, thank you, ang babait ninyo, thank you.", others don't. They just walk right away.

Marie's DPT/PV

Now, what is DPT/PV? This is given to infants - children to protect against three diseases viz : Diptheria, whooping cough and Poliomyelitis and Tetanus.

Here, our baby girl received her first dose a few hours ago.

Adverse Effects: Mild local reactions consisting of erythema, pain, and tenderness, swelling and induration at the injection site are common, usually self-limited and subside without treatment. Persistent nodules at the side of injection have occurred following the use of an adsorbed vaccine, but this complication is unusual. Abscess at the site of injection has been reported (6-10 per million doses.)
Mild to moderate systemic reactions occur frequently following injections of this vaccine. These usually consist of one or more of the following symptoms and signs: temperature elevation >38C, drowsiness, fretfulness, anorexia, vomiting, irritability, persistent or unusual crying. These symptoms are most frequent during the first 24 hours following vaccine injection and may persist for one or two days.

BCG reaction (1012-1015-1022)

A rare, but potentially serious side effect of BCG. Photographed last 12th of October, first sign of the growing pus on baby Marie's right arm.

This was baby's BCG reaction last October 15th

Actually it did have pus twice, poor baby it must've hurt!

Here below is that BCG reaction just this day, October 22nd.

It may have healed but I think the pus will grow back for the last time because right there in the center seems to be healing slow.. Well, let's hope not!

Hair Care TIPS after a Hair Rebond

Hair Rebonding is the new age technique to transform your unmanageable wavy and curly locks to a set of glossy, straight tresses having an appearance of a layer of black satin. It is the dream of all stylish women to have beautiful hair. Hair Rebonding change this dream to reality. This is the one of the most happening fashion trend followed by the girls of the present generation.

The process of hair rebonding is actually a chemical process, which is somehow similar to the process of hair straightening. The procedure goes about like this. All the hair types are attributed with a particular bond, which is natural. It can be curly, wavy or straight. In hair rebonding, the hair of curly or wavy nature is passed through some chemical exposure. Relaxants or softeners are applied on the hair to break the bond and then again by the application of a neutralizer the physical bond is restructured. Thus a wavy or a curly hair gets a straight look. The hair rebonding is to some extent a permanent process, until the hair grows longer.

The hair care schedule to be followed after rebonding is as follows,
  • The hair should be oiled and steamed in every 15 days and a hot towel treatment should be followed for deep conditioning.
  • Regular oiling of hair is also advisable.
  • A shampoo meant for straightened hair should be used.
  • A conditioner should be used after each shampoo.
  • A hair serum is also a must.
  • Don’t blow dry the hair often.
  • Natural hair packs like aloe vera, yogurt, egg and olive oil should be used.
  • Always include green vegetables, sprouts and nuts in the diet.
  • Touch up the hair in every three or six months depending on the rapidity of hair growth.

After My 2nd Hair Rebonding

I have just bathed!!! Yeaaah!

Alas! After 3 days of not perfectly bathing, i.e., not washing my hair.. I've felt fresh once more! After all those itching on my scalp..ewww!!!

So, I just had my hair rebonded 4 days ago, and we all know that right after doing the treatment, it is required not to wet the hair for 2-3 consecutive days so that it will take effect.

This was me at the salon:

Look at that face behind me! LOL

Car Town on Facebook

Are you a Car Town addict? As for me, well I am! 100%!!!

Through this I can race other cars, deliver pizzas, go on a roadtrip, and many more, without having a real car! It's just simple yet a fun game in Facebook wherein you can really feel the meaning of someone who has cars.

Anyway, I have captured this photo below in a perfect timing, I was playing through my mom's account (oh yes, I do now) and our cars from our account dropped by for services.

Oh sorry it can not be viewed clearly, I don't know what's happened. But, the game... It's really great!

If you wanna have some fun at home and you are bored with those other online games, try this!

Where Is World's First 'Test Tube' Baby Now?

On July 25, 1978, weighing in at 5 pounds, 12 ounces, Louise Joy Brown entered the world on videotape, her birth recorded for posterity because she had just become the world's first "test tube" baby. Her parents, Lesley and John, had been struggling to have a child for nine years when they turned in desperation to a little-known procedure called in vitro fertilization.

Reporters from around the world descended on Oldham General Hospital in Greater Manchester, England, trying to catch a glimpse of the first baby conceived outside the womb. So intense was the media and scientific debate surrounding her birth that doctors filmed the Caesarean section that delivered Louise to prove that her mother's fallopian tubes were, in fact, not present.

Brown is now 32, with a child of her own -- 3-year-old Cameron, conceived the old-fashioned way and delivered the same. She has tried to live quietly, working as a postal clerk and then for a shipping company, but she is constantly revisited by reporters who've noted everything from her birthdays, to giving birth, to today's announcement that scientist Robert G. Edwards had received the Nobel Prize for helping develop the laboratory process that gave her life.

"It's fantastic news. Me and mum are so glad that one of the pioneers of IVF has been given the recognition he deserves," Brown said today in a statement released by her and her mother. "We hold Bob in great affection and are delighted to send our personal congratulations to him and his family at this time."

Edwards, 85, a professor emeritus at Britain's University of Cambridge, toiled for years with gynecologist Patrick Steptoe to successfully fertilize an egg with sperm outside the womb and then implant the resulting embryo into the mother's uterus. Steptoe died in 1988. According to the Nobel committee, 4 million children have been born using in vitro (meaning "in the glass") to infertile couples.

Being the first such child has been a mixed blessing, Brown has said over the years.

At times during her childhood, she felt "completely alone," the BBC reported in a 2003 profile. "I thought it was something peculiar to me. I thought I was abnormal."

At age 4, her parents showed her the video of her birth, in which a squawling, tiny Louise is pulled from her mother's stomach and held before a camera that captured her being weighed, cleaned and swaddled in a blanket.

"I think it was just in case children at school knew, because children can be quite cruel. I think it was to say I was the same as everybody else, but just a little bit different, she told Britain's Daily Mail in 2008. She grew accustomed to questions from schoolmates such as "how did you fit into a test tube?" She patiently explained that she was not born in a laboratory.

Edwards, who kept in touch with the Browns and attended Louise's wedding in 2004, was "like a granddad to me," Brown said.

She lives outside Bristol with her husband and son, the Daily Mail reported, declining most interview requests and trying to lead a quiet life.

Within her family, Louise was far from unusual. Her sister, Natalie, was born four years after her, also an IVF baby. In 1999, Natalie became the first "test tube" offspring to give birth (she did so naturally).

But the topic of in vitro fertilization created a frenzy when word spread that Edwards and Steptoe had successfully implanted an eight-celled embryo -- which would grow to become Louise. Religious leaders said conception outside the womb was abnormal, and the Vatican has long opposed its use. Even scientists questioned the morality of the method.

And despite its current popularity -- an estimated 2 to 3 percent of children are conceived by vitro fertilization in many countries, the BBC reported today -- controversy surrounding the method hasn't diminished. Much of it now concerns older women who have used it to become pregnant. One of the most notable cases involved a 67-year-old Spanish woman who delivered twins, only to die two years later.

But the Browns have never felt anything but blessed.

"If it wasn't for Bob Edwards and Patrick Steptoe, I wouldn't have this family," said Lesley Brown on her oldest daughter's 30th birthday. "Especially now I've lost my husband." John Brown died from lung cancer in 2006.

"Louise's birthday makes me remember back to when I had her. And looking at all my grandchildren, I think how they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for IVF,'' she told the Daily Mail.

Tinolang Manok / Chicken Stew Recipe

People eat chicken for many reasons. We actually love chicken. Other people make them because they are much easier to cook than pork. Still others make them as they are inexpensive and you can create a quick meal.

For a simple meal, grill them on the barbecue, add toppings of your choice, or top with a salad, or maybe just simply deep fry them. When we make chicken recipes, we put soy sauce and ketchup. Our own personal favorite!

At home, Mother Felisa cooks this Tinolang Manok or Chicken Stew Recipe, especially on the cold days. It is a great way to get us to eat vegetables!

Do you like chicken? Make your own or try this recipe by clicking this link http://maclovesjo.multiply.com/reviews/item/84

Another favorite of ours is the simple crispy chicken, just season the clean meat with pepper and salt to taste then coat with flour or any breading mixes available then deep fry or just simply fry.. Lot of goodness in chickens, isn't it?

A lot of people enjoy a casserole of fried chickens. You can also try barbeque-ing chickens or cooking oven-baked chickens. Both offer a very different flavor. Your choice.
If you like cheese, you, too can add on quickmelt cheese or any cheddar cheese onto your fried chicken and oven-baked chickens.

There are so many ways to cook chicken, and almost all of the recipes are kid friendly also. You can search recipes on line.

Obsessed Lyrics Mariah Carey

So Oh Oh So Ohhh
Will the real MC please step to the mic?
MC- You need an MC, place to be
MC the MC
All up in the blogs
Say we met at the bar
When I don’t even know who you are
Say we up in your house
Sayin’ I’m up in your car
But you in LA but I’m out at Jermaine’s
I’m up in the A- you’re so so lame
and no on here even mentions your name
It must be the weed, it must be the E
cuz you be poppin, hood, you get it poppin’
Ooh boy why you so obsessed with me?
Boy I want to know- lyin’ that you’re sexin me
when everybody knows it’s clear that you’re upset with me
Ohh finally found a girl that you couldn’t impress
Last man on the earth- still couldn’t get this
You’re delusional, you’re delusional
Boy you’re losing your mind
It’s confusin yo, you’re confused you know
Why you wasting your time?
Got you all fired up with your Napoleon complex
See right through you like you’re bathin’ in windex
Ooh Ohh Ohh boy why you so obsessed with me?
And all the ladies sing, all the girls sing
Soo Oohhhh Soo Oohh Obsessed
You on your job, you hittin’ hard
Ain’t gon feed you, gon’ let you starve
Graspin’ for air I’m ventilation
You out of breath, hope you ain’t waitin
Tellin’ the world how much you miss me
But we never were so why you trippin’
You a mom and pop, I’m a corporation
I’m the press conference, you a conversation
Obsessed Lyrics Mariah Carey – Mariah Carey “Obsessed” lyrics seem to be going after Eminem. If this is really the case,Mariah is not holding anything back. You can judge for yourself

The Warning Lyrics Eminem

Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me
Now I’m pissed off
Sit back and relax homey, kick back and relax, grab a six pack while I kick facts
Yeah Dre’s sick track, perfect way to get back
Wanna hear something wick wack?
I got the exact same tat that’s on Nick’s back
I’m obsessed now
Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee
Wow Mariah, I didn’t expect her to go balls out
Bitch, shut the fuck up before I put all them phone calls out you made to my house when you was wild n out before Nick
When you was on my dick and give you somethin to smile about
How many times you fly to my house? Still trying to count
Better shut your lying mouth if you don’t want Nick finding out
You probably think cuz it’s been so long if i had something on you I woulda did it by now
On the contrary, Mary Poppins, I’m mixing our studio session down and sending it to mastering to make it loud
Enough dirt on you to murder you
This is what the fuck I do
Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?
However you prefer to do and goes for you too, Nick, faggot
You think I’m scared of you?
You gonna ruin my career you better get one
Like I’ma sit and fight with you over some slut bitch cunt who made me put up with her psycho ass over 6 months and only spread her legs to let me hit once
Yeah, what you gonna say? I’m lucky? Tell the public that I was so ugly that you fucking had to be drunk to fuck me?
Second base? What the fuck you tell Nick, punk?
In the second week we was dry humping. It’s gotta count for something.
Listen, girly. Surely you don’t want me to talk about how I nutted early cos ejaculated early and bus all over your belly, and you almost started hurling and said I was gross, go get a towel you’re stomachs curling. Or maybe you do.
But if I’m embarrassing me, I’m embarrassing you and don’t you dare say it isn’t true.
As long as the song’s getting airplay I’m dissing you.
I’m a hair away from getting carried away and getting sued.
I was gonna stop at 16. This is 32. This is 34 bars. We ain’t even a third of the way through.
Damn, Slim. Mariah played you. Mariah who?
Oh did I say ”whore”, Nick? I meant a liar too.
Like I’ve been goin off on you all this time for no reason.
Girl you out ya alcholic mind. Check ya wine cellar. Look at all the amounts of wine.
Like I sit around and think about you all the time.
I just think this is funny when I pounce you on a rhyme.
But it now i’m about to draw the line.
And for you to cross it that’s a mountain that I doubt you wanna climb.
I can describe areas of your house that you wouldn’t find on an episode of Cribs
A blubba load ribs if I hear another word so don’t go opening your jibs cos every time you do it’s just another load of fibs
I ain’t saying this shit again, ho. You know what it is.
It’s a warning shot for before I blow up ya whole spot
Call my bluff and I’ll release every fucking thing I got
Including the voicemails right before you flipped your top
When me and Luis were tryin’ to stick two CD’s in the same spot
(Slim Shady I love you)
I love you too
Let me whisper sweet nothings into your ear, boo. Now what you say?
(It’s nothing)
Guess what I’ll do?
I’ll refresh your memory when you said ”I want you”
Now should I keep going or should we call truce?
(You think you’re cute, right? Hahaha)
You bet your sweet ass I do
(I’m Mary Poppins, b)
And I’m Superman, mmm
(Mary P. Slim Shady)
Comin’ at you
So if you’ll still be my (babygirl)
Then I’ll still be your (Superhero, Wilma M.)
Yeah, I’m right here
(You like this)
Nope. Not anymore, Dear.
It cuts like a (knife) when I tell ya get a (life)
But I’m movin on with mine
Nick, is that your (wife)
Well tell her to shut her mouth then I’ll leave her alone
If she don’t (sing this script?) then I’ma just keep goin
(I see Mary Ann. Mary Ann’s saying ”cut the tape, cut the tape”. Knife!)

hey..eminem's good.. really good!

Baby's Favorite Sleeping Posture

This is our baby girl's ever-loved position when she's asleep!

Onto my chest with knees bent on a froggy style position.. You can't actually define what it's called but when you look at it, that's just it.

That makes two of us.. Coz my mom said when I was a kid, this was my favorite, too!

But when I make her sleep on my chest like this, I make sure that either of my arms are there to support her neck and back. Better be careful when handling baby, because she frequently attempts to toss her little head from side to side.

And by the way, through this, I would not have a hard time making her burp after every feed. Bravaaaa!

Perchlorate found in infant formula -- CDC

Samples of powdered infant formula contain trace levels of a rocket fuel ingredient, a federal study has found.

Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tested infant formula for traces of perchlorate because of concerns that the chemical can damage thyroid function. Their findings were published last month in theJournal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology.

Perchlorate has been found in the drinking water of at least 35 states and the District of Columbia. The chemical can inhibit the thyroid gland's iodine uptake, interfering with fetal development.

The highest levels of perchlorate were found in formulas derived from cow's milk, the researchers found. They also looked at soy-based formulas, as well as formulas from lactose-free cow's milk and synthetic amino acids. They declined to say which brands they tested, but said each one contained detectable levels.

The study does not answer questions about how traces of perchlorate affect human health. Some factors could offset the chemical, including the presence of iodine. An infant's weight and formula consumption can also influence risk.

The researchers also offered several caveats for understanding the results, including the scope of the study. The samples were all taken from one city, meaning the results might not apply nationwide.

But some groups are pointing to the findings as evidence that the government needs to set a more stringent perchlorate health advisory level.

"Infants fed cow's milk-based powdered formula could be exposed to perchlorate from two sources -- tap water and formula," said Anila Jacob, a senior scientist with the Environmental Working Group. "That suggests that millions of American babies are potentially at risk."

Jacob's group is urging U.S. EPA to regulate perchlorate in water. Last year, the agency said it saw no need for such regulations because they would offer no "meaningful opportunity for health risk reduction."

But EPA in January delayed deciding on regulation until the National Academy of Sciences studies the matter.

Senate Environment and Public Works Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said in a statement that the CDC study puts further pressure on EPA to set a safe drinking water standard. Boxer introduced legislation last year aimed at limiting the amount of perchlorate in drinking water and requiring some public water systems to monitor it and inform the public of any contamination.

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson pledged at her Senate confirmation hearing that she would address perchlorate. EPA did not respond to requests today for comment.

She turns a week older every Tuesday.

Our pretty baby girl turns 3 weeks this very day. We haven't done a lot, just like our normal days, sitting at home, watching television or a movie, breastfeeding her, talking to her, etc.

She's getting bigger and fatter each day.. Oh wait, is that a yawn baby Marie? Hehehe that's neat!

Marie @ 2 weeks.

Our youngest ever girl in the family, Marie, turned 2 weeks old yesterday, September 21st. Mango float, fruit salad, and a very huge box containing ALL her baby things (clothes, med kit, bibs, etc., YOU NAME IT!) were her surprise gifts.

And.....baby doesn't care!

Good thing the package from Mommyla arrived yesterday, what a very perfect timing! We are almost out of diapers for baby Marie.

Did not post much photos of the contents inside because they are so many. Hahaha!

Thanks to God and to Mommy Grace for everything!

Meet Love Marie.

At the first week of September was the  birthday of our little princess, Love Marie. We took shots of her at her first few days. Visitors said she looks a lot like her Papa. Urgh! So, in short, she looks a lot like a boy. Blah! Kidding!

Anyway, she weighed 6.5 pounds when she got out of my belly. Take note, she was only on her 36th week. Just 5 more lbs. to go for the average weight of a newborn baby at 9 months. She was just so adorable! And for the record, the doctors said our baby was the one who has the fairest complexion of all the babies born that day. That's overwhelming alright!

Mum kept calling on the cellular phone and asked for baby Marie's photos, but unfortunately the internet connection in the hospital was so slow..

At the weekend she had her newborn screening schedule, oh that must have really hurt! However, the pressing of her sole on her feet for the blood to come out did not last for five minutes. There are no other ways for that though. It was such a pity watching her cry and there's nothing I can do to stop the crying because I was forbidden from embracing her.

We then went home on the first day of the following week. Since there was no one else in the house at that time, our dogs Totse, Hudson, and Ashburn welcomed baby Marie!

No Blog for yesterday because...

I was kinda using my new Samsung Corby S3653 with wifi. I tried to blog there but the texts wouldn't show up, it kept on loading.. Until I surrendered and fell asleep!

Well, it's a very nice phone, I'm not too picky on phones as long as it has Wifi in it. Okay this is just a quick one, maybe I'll blog a lot later after our baby's check up.

See ya!

The Oxytocin in me.

I'm pretty sure you guys do not know what the Oxytocin is, and I'm here to give you a little knwledge about it because I have had a couple of doses after my C/S.

Oxytocin is a naturally-occurring hormone that stimulates the smooth muscle of the uterus to contract. It is most effective at term when the uterine muscle is most sensitive, but it can have stimulatory effects even early in pregnancy. Oxytocin is used to induce labor, to stimulate pre-existing labor, and as a uterotonic agent to reduce postpartum bleeding.

Now, have you guessed which one was for me? Yup, to reduce postpartum bleeding. It was really a big help though I suffered so much pain everytime my uterus contracted, most especially the times I breastfed my baby.

Good thing my doctors gave me oxytocin, now I do not have to worry about getting my uterus into its pre-pregnant size! (Well, that's what my doctors told me. Blah.)

Thank God I survived the C-Section WITHOUT HAVING BEEN GOING THRU THE PROCESS OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION.

What can I say? I am a lucky girl, I really am..

Their first glimpse of her.

We have just finished YM chatting with my relatives in my hometown and they enjoyed watching Love Marie though it was just through the web camera.

"Baby sister! Baby sister!" JD shouted when I moved baby Marie towards the laptop's camera.

Lola, Lolo, and everybody in the house were so delighted to see our baby girl.

The smile on their faces was such a wonderful feeling! And boy, I can't wait to travel there with baby Marie and Boogle!

Baby is Out!

Hiya! Ever wonder why the doctor's wouldn't let me sleep while the operation is ongoing? That's to prevent the baby from sleeping, too. It would be hard to pull her out when she aint awake.

Here I am with my baby girl WITH MY TUMMY WIDE OPEN but unfortunately I do not have a picture of it. Lol

Born on the 7th of September. Just two days after my step-brother Ryo's birthday.

Did not sleep well when I was moved in the recovery room right after the procedure, I was so excited to hold my baby girl.. And while waiting for her, I viewed the pictures the nurse captured in our digital camera, and of course, took quite a shot of myself in the recovery room.

http://mcjohomecooked.blogspot.com/

In the past we didn't actually record all those recipes we cooked, when I got pregnant, I started storing them on the laptop already. See how late that is? Well, I used to make a record of recipes when I was in 5th grade and now I do not have any idea where my compilations are. Blah!

I actually started saving these recipes I knew from the past and I have known since Boogle and I started moving in together, online. One from our multiply site, and the others are in our various accounts.

I guess that is all for today. Got to wake Boogle already! It's 11:00 am and we sure are gonna be late for our appointments for today! Urggh!

Those Parasitic Bedbugs! Ugh!

To those who hate bedbugs so much, welcome!!! This is the place to come if you've got a bedbugs problem. We might not be able to tell you everything you need to know because us, too have been doing some research on how to get rid of them bugs.

Read for more information about "Bedbugs".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedbug

At first, we really didn't care about it, we just thought that the causes of our itching every morning or whenever we go near the bed were just because of the mosquitoes. But since it's not a rainy season anymore, and why do we still have these itchings?? There we came to a conclusion that there are bedbugs under our mattress. The bed is already a few years old and it hasn't been washed or placed under the heat of the sun since then. We even found a dead one but didn't seem to care at all because we thought it was just a cockroach. Hahaha!

Now we realize that they're really difficult to get rid of, and the baby is coming in a week or so, now we ended up into a bright conclusion! We are gonna purchase a new mattress instead.

If you are really curious about having to get rid of these parasites, click and read  http://www.getridofthings.com/get-rid-of-bed-bugs.htm. It's the least we can do to help.

Thanks!

PRT SC

To capture the entire screen to the Windows clipboard or to get to the screen you want to capture.

This blog shows how important print screen is for us here. One way to capture a screen image. Useful when sites do not allow right clicking + saving button and/or does not share any documents or pictures in their property.

And since we're using laptops, in order for it to work, you must hold the "fn" key while pressing the "prt scr" button. Just as easy as that! On computers, you just gotta hit the "Print Screen" button immediately before pasting it to paint (ctrl + v).

If you want to show only a portion of the screen shot in the document or application, you can size or crop the image once it has been pasted. Click on the image to select it and you will see the corner and side handles displayed. Here are some examples:

Our examples show our actual Yahoo! Messenger chat pictures. Anything is indeed possible with print screen!

Baby's Heartbeat

What we have here is a short video on our baby's heartbeat taken yesterday at my doctor's clinic.

Just trying to record the sound of our baby's heartbeat, bad background coz my obgyne's listening to some music on the radio. But you can hear the sound from the doppler device if you just focus on it.

My doc here says in the last part that she will perform an I.E. next week, oh scary. Hahaha.

It's good to know that I only have 2 weeks more to enjoy and savor the essence of being a pregnant being, you know. It's making us both nervous and excited.

Amoebiasis.

Early today Mark texted his Mama to know how was it going there for them, that's how we knew about what's the reason for his sister's illness. We really want to go there and visit this afternoon but his Mama insisted because since I am pregnant, I am prone to illnesses and this Amoebiasis can spread through inhalation. Well, I'm not so sure, I just read it on a column somewhere on the internet.

This disease generally occurs in young to middle aged adults, but can affect anyone because people can be receptive to infection by ingesting contaminated food or water containing the Entamoeba histolytica microorganism, although Amoebiasis is mostly associated with people living in areas of poor sanitation and it is a common cause of diarrhea among people living or traveling to developing countries, specially those located in tropical or subtropical areas, but also coming from domestic suburbs with non hygienic conditions.

In case you don't know, my idea of blogging about this type of gastroenteritis infection is to make people aware of the symptoms before it gets worse. I can simply tell because my cousin has had this disease before, and Mark's sister is having it at the moment (Mark and I were present by the time his younger sister's symptoms showed up).

Now, how did Fe Lyn get this disease? I don't know, "we" don't know. It is said that in order to trace the cause of the disease it is necessary to know what you ate and drank in the previous weeks, and/or where you traveled before you became ill. Well, that's hard if you don't have a good memory. Hahaha!

She was confined at a hospital not far from home at 10:30 in the evening, due to their Mama's excessive worrying for Fe Lyn's worsen nausea and diarrhea. She also has cramps on her sides, abdominal tenderness, loss of appetite, and an obvious weight loss. I don't know about her bowel movement (if it contained blood or loose stools).

I guess all we can do is to pray for her fast recovery.

If you want to read more about Amoebiasis, click here http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/parasitic/amebiasis.html

See you again some time, bye.

"Remember"

It's not enough that babies are gorgeous or world-revered cuties. That is why most parents are having a hard time in choosing the right name that suits the baby best. But.. Why name a baby "Remember"? Yeah you heard me.

I was browsing through this particular site and found this randomly on their "names being viewed right now" list. It's awkward, right?

What struck me most was why they approved and even published it on their website. Whether your taste of baby names be traditional or trendy, other people find "Remember" as an option, maybe.

Thus and therefore, the question of the day:

Who would ever name a baby "Remember"? It's definitely not us!

8.19.2010

I want it UNIQUE!

Naming our baby is something that we'll have to live with the rest of our lives, and yes, so will the baby. That is why I'm/we're too careful now especially when we know time's running out. I don't want a name that brings up bad memories for me. The same applies for the names of his ex-girlfriends or his ex's favorite name, color, thing, etc.

I want it unique, I must say.

I have used baby names finder and found over millions of different baby names but still, i couldn't pick one. I guess I just have to make a record of it here on my blog, too. Many people have suggested and yet I didn't approve any of them. My mom always reminded me of this name that sounded like my cousin's name and I don't like it. So, guess it's all up to me now.

Check out the list below.. I might put some additional names on these coming days..

gracie jo
miki marie
miki
jacey
acey
jacey boo
avery
jacey jo

And ooh you might've noticed already, I didn't include "Violet". That's one thing you wouldn't know why. Hehehehe! I just don't want it though Mark seems to get too attached to it.
