We have a new blog | Our Homecooked Recipes

I have to say that when I woke up early this morning, I knew exactly what I wanted to do here on blogger! I've managed a new blog for our homecooked recipes! Yay! Please do check it out guys!

http://mcjohomecooked.blogspot.com/

In the past we didn't actually record all those recipes we cooked, when I got pregnant, I started storing them on the laptop already. See how late that is? Well, I used to make a record of recipes when I was in 5th grade and now I do not have any idea where my compilations are. Blah!

I actually started saving these recipes I knew from the past and I have known since Boogle and I started moving in together, online. One from our multiply site, and the others are in our various accounts.

http://maclovesjo.multiply.com/
http://maclovesjo.blogspot.com/
http://maclovesjo.tumblr.com/

We also have some videos uploaded of our cooked recipes here http://www.youtube.com/user/maclovesjo

I guess that is all for today. Got to wake Boogle already! It's 11:00 am and we sure are gonna be late for our appointments for today! Urggh!

Those Parasitic Bedbugs! Ugh!

To those who hate bedbugs so much, welcome!!! This is the place to come if you've got a bedbugs problem. We might not be able to tell you everything you need to know because us, too have been doing some research on how to get rid of them bugs.

Read for more information about "Bedbugs".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedbug

At first, we really didn't care about it, we just thought that the causes of our itching every morning or whenever we go near the bed were just because of the mosquitoes. But since it's not a rainy season anymore, and why do we still have these itchings?? There we came to a conclusion that there are bedbugs under our mattress. The bed is already a few years old and it hasn't been washed or placed under the heat of the sun since then. We even found a dead one but didn't seem to care at all because we thought it was just a cockroach. Hahaha!

Now we realize that they're really difficult to get rid of, and the baby is coming in a week or so, now we ended up into a bright conclusion! We are gonna purchase a new mattress instead.

If you are really curious about having to get rid of these parasites, click and read  http://www.getridofthings.com/get-rid-of-bed-bugs.htm. It's the least we can do to help.

Thanks!

PRT SC

To capture the entire screen to the Windows clipboard or to get to the screen you want to capture.

This blog shows how important print screen is for us here. One way to capture a screen image. Useful when sites do not allow right clicking + saving button and/or does not share any documents or pictures in their property.

And since we're using laptops, in order for it to work, you must hold the "fn" key while pressing the "prt scr" button. Just as easy as that! On computers, you just gotta hit the "Print Screen" button immediately before pasting it to paint (ctrl + v).

If you want to show only a portion of the screen shot in the document or application, you can size or crop the image once it has been pasted. Click on the image to select it and you will see the corner and side handles displayed. Here are some examples:

Our examples show our actual Yahoo! Messenger chat pictures. Anything is indeed possible with print screen!

Baby's Heartbeat

What we have here is a short video on our baby's heartbeat taken yesterday at my doctor's clinic.

Just trying to record the sound of our baby's heartbeat, bad background coz my obgyne's listening to some music on the radio. But you can hear the sound from the doppler device if you just focus on it.

My doc here says in the last part that she will perform an I.E. next week, oh scary. Hahaha.

It's good to know that I only have 2 weeks more to enjoy and savor the essence of being a pregnant being, you know. It's making us both nervous and excited.

Amoebiasis.

Early today Mark texted his Mama to know how was it going there for them, that's how we knew about what's the reason for his sister's illness. We really want to go there and visit this afternoon but his Mama insisted because since I am pregnant, I am prone to illnesses and this Amoebiasis can spread through inhalation. Well, I'm not so sure, I just read it on a column somewhere on the internet.

This disease generally occurs in young to middle aged adults, but can affect anyone because people can be receptive to infection by ingesting contaminated food or water containing the Entamoeba histolytica microorganism, although Amoebiasis is mostly associated with people living in areas of poor sanitation and it is a common cause of diarrhea among people living or traveling to developing countries, specially those located in tropical or subtropical areas, but also coming from domestic suburbs with non hygienic conditions.

In case you don't know, my idea of blogging about this type of gastroenteritis infection is to make people aware of the symptoms before it gets worse. I can simply tell because my cousin has had this disease before, and Mark's sister is having it at the moment (Mark and I were present by the time his younger sister's symptoms showed up).

Now, how did Fe Lyn get this disease? I don't know, "we" don't know. It is said that in order to trace the cause of the disease it is necessary to know what you ate and drank in the previous weeks, and/or where you traveled before you became ill. Well, that's hard if you don't have a good memory. Hahaha!

She was confined at a hospital not far from home at 10:30 in the evening, due to their Mama's excessive worrying for Fe Lyn's worsen nausea and diarrhea. She also has cramps on her sides, abdominal tenderness, loss of appetite, and an obvious weight loss. I don't know about her bowel movement (if it contained blood or loose stools).

I guess all we can do is to pray for her fast recovery.

If you want to read more about Amoebiasis, click here http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/parasitic/amebiasis.html

See you again some time, bye.

"Remember"

It's not enough that babies are gorgeous or world-revered cuties. That is why most parents are having a hard time in choosing the right name that suits the baby best. But.. Why name a baby "Remember"? Yeah you heard me.

I was browsing through this particular site and found this randomly on their "names being viewed right now" list. It's awkward, right?

What struck me most was why they approved and even published it on their website. Whether your taste of baby names be traditional or trendy, other people find "Remember" as an option, maybe.

Thus and therefore, the question of the day:

Who would ever name a baby "Remember"? It's definitely not us!

8.19.2010

I want it UNIQUE!

Naming our baby is something that we'll have to live with the rest of our lives, and yes, so will the baby. That is why I'm/we're too careful now especially when we know time's running out. I don't want a name that brings up bad memories for me. The same applies for the names of his ex-girlfriends or his ex's favorite name, color, thing, etc.

I want it unique, I must say.

I have used baby names finder and found over millions of different baby names but still, i couldn't pick one. I guess I just have to make a record of it here on my blog, too. Many people have suggested and yet I didn't approve any of them. My mom always reminded me of this name that sounded like my cousin's name and I don't like it. So, guess it's all up to me now.

Check out the list below.. I might put some additional names on these coming days..

gracie jo
miki marie
miki
jacey
acey
jacey boo
avery
jacey jo

And ooh you might've noticed already, I didn't include "Violet". That's one thing you wouldn't know why. Hehehehe! I just don't want it though Mark seems to get too attached to it.

Monsieur Incroyable's daughter, Violet.

You think that's a nice name for our coming baby, huh? =)

We think it's cool as her second name. Still have 1 month more to go to look for her first name though. Hehehehe >.<

Thanks for some who suggested already. It's very much appreciated but we have to decide properly. We are not naming any puppies, are we? Hehehe.

If you have any other suggestions, please PM us. Now, off to the church we go.

It was indeed so hard for us to choose which ones to buy. It took us hours!

And here are the photos of what we bought for our personal hospital needs:

Uhm, you might be wondering why I chose to buy Maternity Pads instead of those freakinglishly adult diapers. Well, first off, I will be going through a C-section so that means the bleeding is not so heavy after the nurses remove the cutheter. And second, it isn't necessary AT ALL! Believe me.

So, now where were we? Ahh.. There you have it guys. The things inside our "hospital bag". Hope this helps.

Our Hair & Scalp Needs

Most people are aware of the importance of cleaning your hair, but not everybody is aware of the fact that there is a right way and a wrong way to clean the hair. As for me, I cannot say that I am 100% sure whether or not I am taking care of my hair the right way.

This picture not far from your left side shows me with my mom, taken just this May. I kind of shared it to you so that you, too can have a clear view from the back or side of my head. Now, aint that a dull hair to you? Well, guess so..
This explains why I badly need to change my hairstyle now OR why I badly need hair treatments. Am planning on it by the end of this month though.

And this shampoo, by the way, is needed by Mark A.S.A.P.! His dandruff is troubling him these past few days.. His scalp didn't quite like the shampoo his mother bought.
I read an article which says that, if the scalp is dirty but the hair is clean then the hair will not stay clean for very long, this means that you will need to clean the hair more often and this will result in the hair becoming dry and damaged.

So, we were thinking, while it's still early, we better go to the grocery store and buy this shampoo because this indeed makes his hair clean & shiny. No other shampoos can do that to his hair and scalp.. Don't know why. We've tried every other anti-dandruff shampoos.

Grandparents..

Seriously, what comes to your mind when the word "grandparents" is mentioned? The father or mother of a person's own father and/or mother? Old? Wrinkled? Thoughtful? Spoilers? Hehehe.. Well me, too. I think of those stuffs. But hey, that isn't the issue here. I am terribly missing my grannies for a couple of months now.

Here they are. We call our grandparents "Lolo" and "Lola", and there's this traditional way here in the Philippines of honoring them when we see them. "Bless", we take their hand and kind of put it against our forehead. I don't actually know what's the explanation for that but we seem to be used to it already.

I have my own theory why I miss them more than I miss my own mother. Because I grew up with them since birth (my mother left me to them so they have to take care of me IN SPITE OF THEIR AGE AND THEIR SITUATION BACK THEN) and for the fact that they are always there even if I don't need them. It's like I'm their own daughter or something. It's because I can feel how much they love me and care for me more than they do on their own children. Seems like I am their favorite! Ugh, I just included that "favorite" thingy coz I remember this incident when one of my cousins yelled at them in front of me (yeah shameful! SHE really did that to them, asked them repeatedly why I am always the favorite of the family LOL). Guess this isn't luck, they just really love me.

You see, I was kinda wondering how they made it, when I knew that most of the grandparents out there don't even try reaching out for their grandchildren. Some even turn down invitations from their children for a reunion or any occasion. Out of all the possible answers I got (from myself), nothing seemed to make sense! Hehehe!

Oooh I just couldn't stand thinking what would I be without them! I love my grandparents for who they are, and for the pure fun my JD and JC have with them. I'm proud of how they brought me up, and I admit I am spoiled-rotten by them (no doubt!)..

Child in Haiti

Whenever you hear about Haiti, it's usually because of something frightening. It's famous for hurricanes, deforestation, poverty, drug smuggling, violence, dictatorships, voodoo and slavery. Half a century ago, when it was under the tyranny of François “Papa Doc” Duvalier and his “zombie” militia, Graham Greene called Haiti the “nightmare republic.”

Starving people in Haiti's slums give new meaning to the
phrase "dirt poor." Here, an 11-year-old boy shows his dirt-
streaked tongue after eating a mud cookie in Cite Soleil.

TOTALLY GROSS!
