Hey I've got news for everybody! I just found out the perfect definitions of the different body types. I was browsing through semi formal attires even though I already have something to wear. Hope this helps you, too!!!
a. Box type (also known as rectangle-shaped) refers to the shape of the body that has relatively little curves. Ideal clothes for you are the structured kinds that cinch in with a belt. If you have a small bust or flat chest, opt for high-necked tops. Veer away from sheath dresses because these would make you appear too long.
b. Pear-shaped body refers to being bottom-heavy. You have bigger hips, thighs or bottoms. With this body shape, choose bright and bold colored tops or dresses with lapels, sleeves and big collars. Never wear pencil, tube and fishtail skirts, especially tight-fitting dresses because these tend to emphasize your hips and backside.
c. Women with strawberry-shaped bodies have bigger upper bodies than bottoms. They have broad shoulders and big busts as compared to their waists and hips. Wearing wide-leg pants and fuller skirts will help balance out the shape of strawberry bodies. Also opt for V-necks or wrap tops. Avoid tapering trousers, puff sleeves, halter necks, epaulettes and shoulder pads.
d. Your body is apple-shaped if you have a figure that is pretty proportional but without a well-defined waist. The best dress for you is something that has an empire cut line and long tops. Opt for low necklines to draw the eyes upwards. Don’t wear pleated, tiered skirts and short boxy jackets.
e. Finally, the hourglass figure takes pride in its curves. Women with this kind of body shape have a fuller bust and bottom and a defined waist. If you are blessed with this figure, choose clothes that are waist-cinching, wide leg pants or wrap dresses. Don’t go into those baggy clothes that will hide your to-die-for curves.
